Your Journey to the Launch Site Begins
After the relaxing ride on the Breitenberg cable car, you reach the mountain station at 1,502 meters altitude. At Breitenberg there are a total of four launch sites; for tandem flights we deliberately focus on two main launch sites that are particularly easy and family-friendly. Depending on the wind, your experienced pilot decides whether you start at Support 9 (N–NE) or at Kesselmoos (NE–E).
1. Arrival at the Breitenberg Mountain Station
Welcome to the Breitenberg mountain station! You and your certified pilot traveled up together on the Breitenberg cable car – a relaxing opportunity to get to know each other and discuss the upcoming Tandem Flight Pfronten adventure.
Upon arrival at the Breitenberg mountain station, enjoy the first spectacular view over the Pfronten valley and the surrounding Allgäu Alps. Often we then take the short chairlift – so you stand comfortably at approx. 1,600–1,680 m near the launch sites. Your pilot explains to you which of the two tandem launch sites you will go to today – depending on wind and weather.

2. The Two Tandem Launch Sites - Your Pilot Decides

Terrain: Flat alpine meadow – ideal for tandems, family-friendly
Suitable for single and tandem paragliders
Kesselmoos
Access: 3 min to chairlift + 10–15 min walk (flat to slightly descending)
Altitude: 1,680 meters above sea level
Coordinates: N 47°33'15.20" E 10°33'28.45"
Wind Direction: Northeast to East (NE–E)
Terrain: Higher altitude, spacious launch area
Note: Partially marshy ground - sturdy shoes recommended
3. The Relaxed Walk
Don't worry – the paths to our tandem launch sites are short and family-friendly. From the chairlift it's usually only a few minutes over well-maintained meadow trails (flat to slightly descending), depending on the launch site about 5–15 minutes.
The trails are easily manageable even for children from 6 years old and older people. Your pilot carries the equipment and already explains interesting details about the Paragliding Pfronten experience during the leisurely walk.
The hike is suitable for all age groups. Even grandparents and children can manage the path without problems. Along the way there are several rest areas with benches and spectacular views.
4. Equipment & Safety Briefing
Arriving at the selected launch site, your pilot spreads out the paraglider on the wide meadow area. These launch meadows are specially prepared for Paragliding Pfronten - flat, grassy and absolutely safe.
While the canopy is being prepared for takeoff, you receive your personal safety briefing. Don't worry: You don't have to learn anything complicated! Your certified pilot explains to you in just a few minutes everything you need to know for your first tandem flight.
- Putting on the harness (completely done by the pilot)

5. The Magical Moment - The Takeoff
Now it's getting exciting! After all the preparation, it's time for the moment you've been looking forward to: Your Tandem Flight Pfronten takeoff becomes an unforgettable experience.

The takeoff is this simple:
- Take position: You stand in front of your pilot, both in the harness
- Canopy fills up: Your pilot controls the paraglider behind you
- Few steps: On command you walk a few steps forward together
- Takeoff: The canopy gently lifts you into the air - you don't have to do anything!
- Enjoy: Lean back and enjoy your flight over Pfronten
Important to know:
You don't need any skills! The takeoff at Tandem Flight Pfronten is designed so that even people with fear of heights or without any previous experience can take off without problems.
Your experienced pilot takes complete control and responsibility. You are securely connected to him and just need to enjoy the breathtaking experience!
